This is a Winchester Model 1895 in .30 U.S.. The receiver has a blued finish that is thinning, with bare metal around the sharp edges, some patina, and some slight pitting on the right hand side (visible in photos). The barrel has a blued finish, with some scatches, and wear from normal handling and use. The buttstock is wooden, with a checkered metal buttplate. The wood has multiple small dents, dings, scratches and abrasions from normal wear and use. The Schnabel style forend has a black insert at the front that was added at some point in this rifles life. The forearm has multiple minor dents, dings, scratches, and abrasions from wear and use. The bore is dark, with corossion, but with strong, visible rifling. This rifle was made in 1903.
