Winchester RMEF, Model 1886 Takedown, #472 of 500, NIB
Description:
SOLD ** Winchester Model 1886 TAKEDOWN, made by Winchester 2001, 45-70 RMEF edition, NIB
If you ever wanted an example of a Model 1886, you cannot find a better one than this beautiful rifle, especially for the price. Updated with a tang safety, this rifle otherwise mirrors the original model 1886 and is a joy to hold and to view. Built by the now-highly respected Winchester’s Miroku factory, this is not a Browning copy nor one made by Uberti or Pedersoli… this is Winchester.
This rifle is No. 472 of 500 especially built for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s Banquet Limited Edition. The deep bluing is nearly black with the highest quality gold sculptures and filigree. On the right receiver wall are the words in gold letters, “RMEF 2001 BANQUET EDITION” and two small Roosevelt elks in gold above the loading port. On the left receiver wall, in gold, is one large Roosevelt elk in an oval surround with gold lettering that reads: ROCKY MOUNTAIN ELK FOUNDATION in the border. Under the serial number on the bottom of the receiver, is the gold inscription “RMEF 472”.
Its 25” octagon barrel is fitted with iron sights much like original Model 1886, a buckhorn rear adjustable with elevator; and for the front, a fine brass bead. The stock is tight grain black walnut with beautiful figure and perfect color for this rifle, showing burls and knurling. Checkering patterns are generous and oil free with sharp diamonds and clear borders. This gun is new, unfired, in pristine condition and comes with original box, packaging, and takedown instructions.
While you will find copies of the Model 1886 for less money, you will not find one that you can be more proud of owning, than this one for the money and made by Winchester.
