World War I Italian Model 1889 Bodeo Revolver (Spanish Made)
Description: Serial #AF8685, 10.4mm, 4 1/2” octagon barrel with a very good bore that has a few spots of dark pitting along its length. This is a 1916 dated, enlisted model revolver with folding, guard-less trigger that retains about 20-25% of the original blue with the balance having turned to a dark pewter gray patina having scattered spots of light freckling and moderate-heavy pitting towards the muzzle and underside of the barrel. The fluted cylinder has some further light oxidation along the edges of the flutes. Interestingly, the pistol has a Rome contractor marking but was made by Arizmendi of Eibar, Spain. The knurled wooden grips are in very good condition but have light wear with minor handling marks throughout. The mechanism is fully functional and has good timing and lock-up. These are seldom seen revolvers and this example is in very good plus condition overall and is a nice looking, war-dated example.
