This is a conical 10-pounder projectile that measures 8 1/4” in length and has a weight of 7 lbs. 14 oz. (3.6 Kg). According to the previous owner's notes and an old painted label on the side of the shell, it was dug at Siler City, NC. The exterior of the shell has a dark brown patina throughout with a rough texture and vacant nose (the interior of the shell is empty as well). The metal base skirt is deformed, but the shell is attractive and has a pleasant relic appearance that would make it a nice piece for display, or as a decorative accent for a gun room or study.
