BEN VARGA HOLSTER COLT SINGLE ACTION SAA 4-3/4” SAN ANTONIO BEXAR CO. TEXAS TX
Description: ********SOLD******** Description: Ben Varga was born in San Antonio in 1867. By the time Ben was fifteen, he was working as a saddle and harness maker under the apprenticeship of his father, Joseph. In the late 1880’s he worked in other saddle shops until opening his own business on South Flores Street in San Antonio. This holster is as near perfect as antique holsters can be found anywhere! Made of heavy leather in the best quality. The surface is smooth with a light sheen, and shows no crazing or cracking. The leather is pliable, and all stitching is as tight as when new. There have been no alterations or repairs. The leather has not been treated with any preservatives. The single loop, which is riveted to the skirt, is deeply stamped "BEN VARGA / MAKER / SAN ANTONIO, TEX.". The bottom of the pouch is sewn to the skirt. Measuring from the top of pouch to the plugged bottom is 7-1/4”. Obviously made for a Colt SAA with a 4-3/4” barrel, as shown in the pictures. The Colt SAA x 4-3/4” is NOT a part of this sale, and is shown to prove proper fit to this holster. Terms: No International sales. Please ask questions prior to buying. Additional pictures sent on request. Due to potential damage caused by someone’s gun being crammed into this holster, there is NO three day inspection period, or Return. I hate to be this way, but in 50 years of collecting, have seen dumb things done that have irreversibly damaged antique holsters. This is an unusually nice holster, and it should stay that way. I accept Bank Cashier’s Checks and Postal Money Orders. No personal checks or Western Union MO’s. Payment must be received within seven days after sale date, and sent by Priority Mail with Tracking Number provided by buyer. Shipping by USPS Priority Mail (12” x 9” x 9” box) fully insured for $30.00 (and tracking number provided to buyer). Usually shipping occurs within 3 days after payment received. Three (3) day Inspection and Return Policy: None. SOLD |
