Description:
This is a superb example of a Colorado Bamboo fly rod. The Goodwin Granger co. was bought out by Wright Mcgill sometime around WWII and they continued to produce bamboo rods until 1953 or 4. This rod is 8 1/2 ft long and appears to have been used very little. The markings usually are faded but these are crisp and clear. The ferrules fit tight and the bamboo is perfect. It does look like the varnish on the wraps have been given a light coat of varnish, but otherwise the rod has not been messed with.
This rod came out of an estate in Northern New Mexico. All these rods seem to have been bought at Dave Cooks sporting goods in Denver.
If you are a collector please feel free to give me a call with any questions.
