This bronze attachment could be special ordered from Iver Johnson from 1904 into the 1920's and fitted at the factory on Safety Automatic Model Revolvers. Charles C. Bourne, of Worcester, Mass. was the inventor who assigned the rights to Iver Johnson for a lump sum payment of $1200. This scarce example has no marks and the 3 holes are not drilled. For reference see "Iver Johnson" by W.E. Goforth and Flayderman 8A-0685. A very scarce item about 6000 were believed made with most going to South America.
