This grouping consists of a short Highland jacket in dark green gabardine that has bullion trimmed cuffs and the regimental buttons of the Royal Highland Regiment of Canada. The stand collar has two regimental St. Andrew badges and die-struck gilt captain's pips on the epaulettes. The interior of the jacket has a padded white silk lining with green polished cotton on the hems and a Scottish tailor's label that identifies the owner as a Capt. G. Pearson. The accompanying tailor-made, private purchase woolen trews are in excellent condition and have a Toronto maker's label along with the owner's name: "Cpl. Haynes J.L." Although not strictly matching the jacket, the trousers are certainly of comparable quality and have black silk linings and suspender buttons around the waist. This is an impressive, high quality semi-formal Highlander dress uniform in excellent condition and would be a fine addition to any collection.
