Ideal No. 6 38-55 Fixed Chamber Boxed with some Accessories
Description: A very nice example of the early fixed chamber version. Marked with the usual Ideal New Haven address and "38-55". Retains 95% original nickle finish. Bullet cavity is excellent. Tool does not appear to have been used much.
The powder dipper is original. The other item looks to me to be a homemade short powder drop tube. There is no decapping tool. Included is a neat double-sided and not often seen flyer "Do you shoot a rifle" showing various bullet design. The single-sided Casting Bullet flyer is a later issue by Lyman.
The top lid shows a break under the "Ideal" part and has two seperations as shown. Also has nome pencilled notations. The bottom of the box has one seperation on one side. Check out photos.
The scarcity of these wide box early types are in the "Hen's Teeth" category are are rarely found intact as this one is. Boxes and paperwork are scarcer than the tools. All in all, a decent, a set worthy of completion.
Buyer pays $10.50 shipping in a Medium Flat Rate box with Delivery Confirmation.
