Kingsland Re and Decapping Tool, circa1878
Description:
This is one of the very earliest re and decapping tool patents. Remington had an earlier one for removing the berdan type primers, but this is for the boxer type primer with the centrally located flash hole. You should be able to search the internet and bring up the patent pictures on this one. It is in nice working condition with about half the original nickel on the lever and nearly all the original green paint in the background of the casting. I tried this out and it works well. You have to remove the decapping pin to put new primers in a case. Probably not the best design, but it does work. I have seen an earlier version without the fancy casting on the sides. This one is a lot prettier. Please give me a call if you have any questions.
