The Model N 1908 Vest pocket Cowgirl's .25 Colt is well documented. Engraved on the silver plated slide " Ladies High Score Annual Round Up 1909 ". The frame is deep rich early bluing.
It comes with Colt Letter. Was part of a 24 gun shipment to Missoula Montana. It was awarded as a Prize for some ladies competition. The Mercantile thought by awarding one of the 24 as a prize he would be able to sell the other 23 guns.Whether or not the inscription is factory work cannot be ascertained. Noted researcher,Dr. John Brunner, was unable to find any record of such work at the factory, but feels the engraving is very typical of the factory work for that period. He also notes that it was not unusual for such details to escape the factory records. 95% condition. With the gun is the original holster, quite similar to the coin purse pocket holsters of the period. Comes with Colt letter, an article about the gun and the holster.
