A nice Waters model 1836 military issue flintlock dated 1838 on the lock. Both metal (bright) and wood are in FINE condition. The action is strong and the hammer holds on both full and half cock. The spotting on the metal is relatively minor. There is a very small crack in the wood at the end of the lock and a small chip on the left side opposite the hammer. There appears to be a small wood repair on the top, right side, opposite the hammer. There is some staining but no other cracks, splits or lost wood. The wood is sound and there is a cartouche visible on the left side near the trigger. There is a front and rear sight and a captive ramrod. There are 3 stampings on top of the barrel: "U.S.", "JH", and "P". This is definitely one of the better conditioned exampls of this 179 year old model that I have seen. It is priced under the current market and prices of all flintlocks are rising rapidly.
The barrel is 8 & 1/2 inches long and the overall length is approx. 14 inches.
This is an antique so no FFL is required. It can be shipped directly to a new proud collector.
Note: This pistol was inadvertently a second time and can also be found under # 100630680.
