Description: Make: Moore’s Patent Fire Arms Co. Model: Front Loading Teat-Fire Revolver Serial Number: 3333 Year of Manufacture: circa 1864 – 1869 Caliber: .32 Teat-Fire Action Type: Single Action Cartridge Revolver with Front Loading Cylinder Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “MOORE S PAT. FIRE ARMS Co. BROOKLYN N.Y.” very faintly and the underside of the barrel is marked “3333”. Barrel Length: 3 ¼” Wood: Still has factory original finish about 95% remaining. There is a small chip, but overall wood is in very good condition for antique. Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 75% of its metal finish. There is some scattered light surface erosion on barrel. The grip frame and side plates show some tarnished blackened silver. The hammer and trigger checkering remains sharp. The scroll engraving still shows well. . Overall, this handgun is in Very Good condition for an antique. Please see our photos. Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Moore’s answer was to produce a front-loading metallic cartridge; and these arms enjoyed a modest success until the expiry of Rollin White’s patent, in 1869.
