This is a post 1816 pistol by the lock marking as James Allport died in 1816 thus dissolving the partnership leaving James’ son William who was the actual operating partner in Ketland and Co. to set up on his own. This is a very fine pistol showing little or no use. The stock has perfect sharp edges. The metal shows tarnish/patina markings. Markings are sharp. Nice piece of history related to Ketland and Co.
