Henry Nock, London --- Cased Pair Flintlock Duelling Pistols --- 16-Bore
Description: 9" smoothbore, octagonal, damascus barrels with fine blade front sights and notch rear sights. Classic bag-handled fruitwood stocks with point-pattern checkering, silver forend tips, teardrops, vacant silver escutcheons atop the wrists, barrel key-fastener, engraved steel triggerguards with pineapple finials, and brass-tipped ramrods. Lightly engraved sidelock, flintlock actions with half-cock stalking safety, rainproof pans and roller-bearing frizzens. Built ca 1810. Locks rather patinated, but triggerguards retaining 85% original blue and barrels retaining 50% original brown. Both together in green-baize-lined mahogany presentation case with Sykes powder flask, balls and flints, combination ramrod/worm and 17-bore bullet mold. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Antique: Yes |
