Return Policy: *****NO RETURN ******
Our policy in regards to No Inspection/ No Return is as follows: The 3-day inspection period, or longer, we’ve offered for many years. We now feel with the pictures we provide for each gun in our inventory ( in which you can expand something as small as a pin head to fit your entire screen) you can see of the gun in its complete entirety and get a very good view of the quality of the gun on the internet. When we first started dealing in guns 48 years ago, you’d have to rely on our description over the phone, that’s now no longer the case. If there’s a major error that we missed, we’d of course take the gun back. But we do feel from the pictures and online descriptions that you should be able to determine from this information if you’d like to purchase the gun.

Colt - SAA, .44-40 cal., 10” barrel, Magnificent Cased Leonard Francolini Statue of Liberty Colt
Description: Colt - SAA, .44-40 cal., 10” barrel, Magnificent Cased Leonard Francolini Statue of Liberty Colt Single Action Army Revolver, designed by Larry Mayle and embellished by master engraver Leonard Francolini to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. This revolver is not only one of the finest contemporary engraved Colt revolvers in existence, it is unique because both the revolver, the case and accessories incorporate steel, copper and wood elements removed from the Statue of Liberty during the restoration of the statue. Portions of the revolver not covered by gold have brilliant polished blue finish, the grips and butt cap are done in sterling silver in the style of the 19th Century Tiffany work. The entire frame of the revolver is inlaid with flush with 24 karat gold scroll work on a relieved punch background. The top strap is inscribed “America the Beautiful” on the left side and “Vive la France” on the right in flush 24k gold inlaid script lettering. A beautiful raised 18k gold bust of Liberty adorns the left recoil shield and a raised 18k Arch de Truimph decorates the loading gate, the trigger is drilled for a 18k gold trigger shoe, the cylinder features the great seal of the United States, a bust of the creator of the Statue of Liberty, Auguste Bartholdi, both inlaid in raised 18k gold on a background of fine matted silver. The mottos “FREEDOM, EQUALITY, OPPORTUNITY, LOVE, UNITY” and “HOPE” border the front of the cylinder in 24k gold, flush, block letters. The inscription “engraved by L. Francolini” is located on the front of the frame. The highlight of the barrel is a gorgeous 14K gold inlay of the Statue of Liberty with a flame of 14K pink gold, the pedestal is also executed in 14k pink gold. The level of detail cannot be overstated in this revolver and the case, the four hinges, key plate, latch plate, key bodies, the box knob, twenty seven screws and two nails in the oak revolver case were all cast from copper used in the original Statue of Liberty. The Liberty 100 appeared on the cover of the American Rifleman in July 1986 and in Man at arms in August 1996. The plaque inside the case is an actual piece of the outer skin of the statue. An incredible piece of American history, the most extraordinary gun ever offered for sale through Connecticut Shotgun, the chance of a lifetime to own one of the most sought after Colts ever, please call for more details.
