ENGRAVED Antique HENRY DERINGER Revolver
Description: ENGRAVED Antique HENRY DERINGER Revolver The Family Name Carried on into the Late 19th Century Here we present an antique Henry Deringer .32 Rimfire Pocket Revolver, made in 1879 by I.J. Clark in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Henry Deringer is perhaps one of the most recognized name in firearms history, so much so that his name became a noun in the English language, still in use today. He was known for his handsome design for single-shot percussion pistols made in Philadelphia and used all over the U.S. beginning in the 1830s and through his death in 1868. His design was much copied and his name used on these copies without his permission to increase sales. Unsurprisingly, after his death, things were no different. His family continued to use his name and his great grandson, I. Jones Clark, produced a series of pocket-sized, spur trigger revolvers that were all the rage with the close of Smith & Wesson’s monopoly on the market due to the expiration of the Rollin White patent. These are certainly extremely well made and very collectible. Only 4,000 estimated to have been made. This example is engraved throughout and features mother of pearl grips. The top of the barrel reads “DERINGER PHILADA”. The overall condition is near fine. The original nickel finish is 85%. The engraving is clear and the markings are legible. The grips are solid mother of pearl and in very good condition. The bore is in good shape. The action is excellent. Here is a beautiful spur trigger revolver! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 3-1/2 inches. Caliber: .32 Rimfire Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1000 #5478 SOLD Antique: Yes |
