Description: CASED PAIR BRITISH HENRY TATHAM JR. PERCUSSION OFFICER’S GREAT COAT PISTOLS CIRCA 1840’S. Fine original casing of pistols intended for an officer as personal side arms. .54 caliber smooth bore 4 ¼” octagon barrels with gold banded breeches and engraved on the top flat “LONDON”. Locks signed “TATHAM JUNR.” for Henry Tatham Jr. well known London maker and successor to his father who had been at one time a partner of Joseph Egg. Finest quality and in very fine condition with beautiful engraving and nice features such as platinum lined ignition channels fancy gold breech bands. Mounted officer’s style stirrup ramrod. Checkered walnut stocks with bag shaped grips and engraved steel mounts and silver escutcheons and thumb plates. Locks with hammer safeties one of which is restored. Hammers with added ear extensions. And one hammer screw nut a well done replacement. Perfect working order and excellent bores. Original oak case with green baize lining. Copper flask and rosewood loading rod included. Even has the original case key. SOLD Antique: Yes |
