From 1930 to 1933 Mauser participated in reworking and reissuing Luger pistols using new and used parts in violation of the Treaty of Versailles for sale to police and quasi-military organizations appearing in Germany at that time, such as the National Socialist [Nazi] Party. This is one of these in very nice collector condition. The unit markings "L. St." indicate that this pistol came from the Landjagerie [rural police] of the Stettin Regierungsbezirke [administrative district] in the Pommern province of the German State of Prussia. This area was captured bny the Soviets and in the Soviet zone following the war and for this reason few pistols with these markings are encountered. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
