1943 Nagoya Nambu Type 14 w/ Matching Magazine
Description: They Type 14 is the most recognized of all Japanese WW2 handguns by collectors and non-collectors alike. There were approximately 280,000 Type 14s made during it's 20 years of production. With an external appearance similar to the famous German Luger, they were a prized "war trophy" to our troops in the Pacific Theatre and many were shipped and brought home during and after WW2. This attractive specimen was manufactured in 1943 by the Nambu Rifle Manfacturing Co., a privately owned company by the pistol's namesake, General Kijiro Nambu. This Type 14 is 100% original and all numbers match including the magazine. The original factory blue finish and strawed small parts are in excellent condition. The blued finish rates 97% with no bad spots or marring that sticks out, only some small handling marks visible under close inspection. The yellow colored "strawed" parts also rate 97% with lots of bright color visible and only a tiny bit of thinning on the face of the trigger. The bore in this Type 14 is very good. The rifling is still strong with sharp lands and grooves, and the bore has a bright appearance. The only negative are some tiny areas of light surface pitting scattered along the top of the bore. The original factory grooved wooden grips are also in excellent condition. They are numbered to the pistol in pencil on the back, and they are free from cracks, chipping, or repairs. They show some minor handling marks consistent with the rest of the Nambu, but no real wear to speak of. As mentioned previously, this Type 14 comes with one of the original magazines serial numbered to this Nambu. It is in excellent condition and has great spring pressure on the follower. If you have been looking for an all-original and super clean Japanese Nambu Type 14 for your collection, this pistol would be an excellent choice and a great investment.
