Type 14 "Nambu" ~ Mfg. July 1935 ~ 8x22mm Nambu
Description: This Type 14 Nambu pistol's parts were made by the Koishikawa Arsenal and the pistol itself was assembled at the Kokura Arsenal. This practice was in place from 1935-1936. In September of 1923 a massive earthquake destroyed most of the Koishikawa Arsenal and this meant any serviceable parts were put together afterwards. The markings on the pistol indicate that it was completed in July of 1935. The trigger guard is of the small early type and is not the oblong "Winter" type produced later. The parts seem to have matching numbers except for the magazine. Since the pistol has not been taken apart it cannot be said that all the parts match. There is still cosmoline grease inside the pistol that would need to be cleaned out if the pistol is to be shot. Overall the pistol is a great example of an early production Type 14 and would be a great addition to any WWII or Japanese pistol collection.
