WWII Imperial Japanese Type 14 NAMBU Pistol
Description: WWII Imperial Japanese Type 14 NAMBU Pistol World War II Pacific Theater Sidearm Here we present a World War II Japanese Type 14 Nambu Pistol, made in February of 1939 at the Nagoya Arsenal Kokubunji. This pistol is a fantastic original example of what a Japanese soldier would have used during World War II in the Pacific Theater. The pistol is so-named “Nambu” for its inventor. The Type 14 was the final iteration of Kijiro Nambu’s original design, adopted in the 14th year of Taisho Japanese calendar, which was 1925. It was simple and unique in many ways to other combat pistols during the war. It was chambered for the 8mm Nambu cartridge, which was a bottlenecked 8x22mm, and held 8 rounds in the magazine. This pistol is dated “14.2”, meaning that it was made in “1939 February” or the 14th year of the Japanese Showa calendar with the month being represented by the second number. The rearmost markings on the right side of the slide tell us that this gun was part of the first run of the arsenal at Kokubunji. The overall condition is near fine. The original blue finish is 95%. The markings are clear. The serial numbers on the frame, trigger and bolt match, and the pistol comes with an original but unmatched magazine. The grips shows handling and are in good shape. The bore is in good condition with strong rifling and light frosting. The safety lever features a period, probably field expedient repair. The action is excellent. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 4-1/2 inches. Caliber: 8mm Nambu Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1000 #5479 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
