1864 Cased Engraved Set of Moore’s Patent Firearms Co. Revolvers / BEAUTIFUL Matching Pair of Smith & Wesson’s Successful Competitors
Description: 1864 Cased Engraved Set of Moore’s Patent Firearms Co. Revolvers BEAUTIFUL Matching Pair of Smith & Wesson’s Successful Competitors Here we present an antique cased set of beautifully matched teat fired pistols. Daniel Moore and David Williamson designed the special cartridge needed to defeat the infamous Rollin-White patent that made Smith & Wesson king of cartridge revolvers in the latter half of the 19th century. These are front loading pistols that are bored all the way from front to back, but with only enough opening at the back for the hammer to contact the primer of the cartridge, hence the name “teat-fire”. Production lasted from 1864 through 1870 when the company was bought out by Colt. These are examples of the first of three iterations. Both specimens are engraved, brass framed with blued hammers, cylinders, and barrels. Both are in great shape. Tops of the barrels read “Moore’s Pat. Firearms Co. Brooklyn, N.Y.” Cylinders read “D.Williamson’s Patent/Jan. 5, 1864.” Small hinged loading gates located on the right side of the frames, just forward of the cylinders. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Caliber: .32 teat-fire Bores are in great condition and all parts mechanically functional. Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns #21334 SOLD Antique: Yes |
