WW2 Nazi Marked F.B. Radom P-35 9mm Pistol
SOLD
Description: The F.B. Polish Radom P-35 pistol was a prized sidearm for the German soldiers of World War 2. When Poland was invaded by the Germans they captured a number of these pistols that were in service with the Polish Army. When the Germans took over the F.B. Radom plant they decided to continue production of this well made and relaible pistol under Nazi supervision. The German engineers assigned to this task went to work immediately to not only continue the output level prior to their arrival, but actually increase production thru eliminating some steps in production that were time consuming and eliminating some features on the pistol that were not neccesary. This particular P-35 displays some of those manufacturing changes. This pistol has a "military" blue finish, which consisted of eliminating the final polishing steps before bluing the pistol. This resulted in the machining markings remaining visible and a duller appearing finish, unlike the mirror-like polish and gloss blue of the pre-occupation P-35s. The other major change this pistol has is the elimination of the shoulder stock slot in the rear grip strap. The "pre war" P-35's were equipped with a removable shoulder stock for increased accuracy over distance much like the pre-war Browning High Power and WW1 Artillery Model Lugers. This particular Radom P-35 is in good original condition. It shows some wear and finish loss, and certainly was issued and carried. All of the numbered parts match and the original grips are in great shape with no cracks or repairs. The bore is average on this Radom. While it still has good rifling and is not shot out, the bore appears dark with shallow pitting in between the lands and grooves. Everything works 100% like it was designed to. All of the controls work properly and the decocker works perfectly. It comes with one original magazine that holds 8 rounds. We purchased this pistol from a relative of the man who brought it back and it has not been in a collection previously from what we have been told. We were told it was won in a poker game by this man's uncle who was on a troop transport heading back to the States after the war. This is a nice original Nazi proofed P-35 Radom that certainly looks like it was used in combat, and would be an excellent addition to any World War 2 collection.
