Mauser 1896 .30 Mauser caliber pistol. Scarce early small ring hammer Mauser with extractor. These 30xxx range guns were the first of the small ring hammer guns and used the long extractors from the previous large ring hammer guns. They quickly changed to the short extractors and all following Broomhandle Mausers used the short extractors. All numbers match. Bore is about very good with strong rifling and some darkness in the grooves. Gun has approximately 85-90% blue with thinning blue on the barrel. Gun was sold by Von Lengerke and Detmold, New York in the 1905-1907 period. Marked with VL+D name on the frame. Action works perfectly grips are near excellent. Very fine small ring Mauser!
