It has no markings or proof marks. The barrel, trigger guard, ramrod ferrules, butt cap and side plate are all brass which was commonly used in the manufacture of weapons intended for Naval use as it does not rust. The brass has a nice old mustard patina and is in excellent condition.. The lock and hammer appear to be of steel with a pewter tone finish also apparently weather resistant and in excellent condition., There is no engraving ( typical for military weapons) but the metal has some nice design features. The full wood stock is to light in color to be walnut so I think it is a nicely grained hickory which I believe was also used to make the ramrod which looks original and has a metal tip. The wood is in good condition . The action is strong and the hammer holds at full and half cock. There are no sights. The heavy brass barrel is round , flaires out at the tip, is .68 caliber and 5 & 1/4" long. The overall length is 10 & 1/2". The bore looks good, with no sign of rust. This pistol should rate NRA FINE+. This is an antique so no FFL is required. It may be sent directly to the new owner. A NO interest payment plan is available.
