Colt Single Action Army Second Generation First Year 45 Colt With Box
Description:
This is a low serial number first year of the second generation Colt Single Action Army's. The serial number is 3608 SA. For the first year of production in 1956. the 45 Colt and the 38 Special were the only cartridges available. You could only choose a 7 1/2 inch barrel or a 5 1/2 inch barrel. This Colt has the 7 1/2 inch barrel. It comes with it's original box that is serial numbered to this pistol. The box contains the original wrapping paper and instruction sheet. The box is in good condition with light surface wear. The label is clear and intact. The pistol has been shot and shows light holster wear. The color cased finish is real strong and vivid. The color case finish would rate a 98% condition. The bluing finish consist of slight muzzle wear and some loss on the front and back grip strap. The bluing would rate a 95% condition. The hard rubber grips are serial numbered to this pistol. The grips are in very fine condition with no damage to the checkering points. The action works correctly and smoothly. The three hammer stops are intact with no damage. The timing is perfect. This Colt would appeal to the shooter collector. It is a very good looking Pistol with nice strong color case finish that stands out. These early second generation Colt's are very collectable especially when you have the original box. This Colt certainly has what it "takes" for the collector! Search for Harry Viezens on google.
