Manufactured in Italy in 1989.
The barrels are inlaid in gold script, "Pachmayr by Luciano Bosis" and "Pachmayr LTD, Pasadena, CA". The coin finished sidelocks have Bulino scenes and scroll engraving that is truly breathtaking! It is amazing how Pedretti can make his images look three dimensional on these flat surfaces. The action has nearly 100% coverage of open, deeply shaded acantheus scroll surrounding game scenes. Two cocks and one hen pheasant with a windswept tree are on the left lockplate, and the right sideplate shows a covey of bobwhite erupting from a meadow and over a fence line. An English pointer is on the bottom and a finely detailed woodcock is on the top lever. The three major scenes are ALL signed by the engraver "G. Pedretti"
As you would expect, the wood is spectacular, intricately marbled and slightly stump figured Circassian walnut. The straight English grip has 28LPI checkering with double, straight line borders. The full size forearm has matching checkering and an Anson push button release surrounded by a Bosis engraved steel tip. The toe line of the stock has a 'yet to be initialed', inset gold oval. The gun comes housed in a brown leather case with reinforced leather corners and burgandy cloth interior lining.
The current replacement cost is $180,000.00 for a Bosis Michaelangelo engraved by Pedretti. Call with any questions and see our other listings for ... "Only the best!
