Description:
From a mid-west estate sale, a beautiful antique percussion double barreled 8 gauge shotgun with stock and barrel inlays. The 29" barrels have gold barrel bands, both appear to have good bores and are topped with a very wide solid rib with a silver inlayed hunting scene near the breech, "London Fine Twist" surrounded by floral engraving at mid barrel and a silver inlayed arrow at the muzzle(see photos). The wood stock is in good condition with no chips or cracks but has several dents and dings from over 100 years use. The stock has a metal butt plate and several inlays(see photos)and is solid (this gun should be a good shooter) LOP 14 1/4" to the front trigger. The locks both have strong springs and function as they should. The metal has a very nice even patina (see photos). The gun has Silver fittings which include nose cap, wedge pin escussions, patch box, game scene, arrow and eagle inlay most of the fittings are engraved (see photos). The lock plates have some light engraving with the name "Hollis & Sheath". I have not taken this gun apart (I don't want to damage it) therefore it may have maker names inside. This is a beautiful original piece that was made by a long dead master gun maker. I am offering this gun with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if it does not live up to your expectations in any way return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping. We trade guns. Satisfaction guaranteed.
