Description:
A stunning 4 pc. sterling silver tea service Circa 1805, by the famed English silversmith John Emes. This is a fully hallmarked matching set, tea pot, sugar, creme and footed salvar for the teapot. To give a time frame for 1805, Lewis and Clark were on their expedition of the west, Thomas Jefferson was President. This tea service was acquired from an estate here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The original handle on the teapot is an exquisitely carved piece of ebony. All four pieces have a greek key style motif of banding that was a style of the George III period and an "H" monogram. A stunning tea service that would be fit for a King.
