Sale Pending A fine and rare wristwatch by Glycine "Glycine Airman Special" made in 1960 with a Rolex Jubilee bracelet. Glycine Airman Special's were the 1st wristwatches to have a true 24 hour dial. Also has a 24 hour rotating & locking bezel. Movement is Automatic A. Schild 1700/1701...hatched crown...arrow hand...black date. This "Special" model was only made from 1960-1967 and have unique features that are on no other model. Serial # is in the 1960 date. These Airmans were usually preferred by airline and fighter pilots alike over any other brand including Rolex. The Airman was the most used watch by U.S. Army and Navy pilots during the Vietnam War. Many Special Ops, CIA and Special Services also used Glycine watches. This watch was used and belonged to a USMC Veteran who was also in Vietnam early as an advisor. The watch runs and keeps perfect time but needs a servicing/cleaning. USPS Priority insured is 25.00
