Euro MULTI Barrel Mariette RING Trigger PEPPERBOX
Description: Euro MULTI Barrel Mariette RING Trigger PEPPERBOX BELGIAN 1840s Revolving Percussion Defense Pistol Here we present an antique Belgian Mariette Brevete Ring Trigger/Under Hammer Percussion Pepperbox. This firearm was made in the 1840s in Liege, Belgium, known for centuries now as one of the foremost firearms capitals of the world. It was expressly made for self-defense, giving the shooter 4 shots of 6mm caliber ball without having to cock a hammer. This piece is double action, with a cluster of 4 barrels that revolves with each pull of the trigger. This is a percussion piece, and each of the 4 barrels can be independently unscrewed for loading. In fact, each of the barrels is numbered and corresponds to the same number on the firearm, so that the user could not lose track of which barrel goes to its particular portion of the breech. The loading of the gun from the breech, rather than from the muzzle, was beneficial to loading a larger ball—yielding a better gas seal—as opposed to trying to load from the muzzle. The grip frame is marked “Mariette Brevete”. The barrels and breeches are numbered 1-4 in sequence. This gun is numbered “68” on the top of the frame. The breech of the barrel cluster is Liege proofed with a “Crown/AF”, “Crown/G” and “ELG/Star”. The frame is nicely engraved, and the barrels are all forged in twist fashion. Grips are nicely carved. Comes with a very nice period case, lined with green felt, which appears that it could be original to the revolver. The overall condition is very good. Engraving is nice and sharp. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are carved and in very good condition. The bores are in good condition. The action is not functional due to weakened springs and wear. Side panel is a replacement. Nonetheless, this is a fascinating tiny defense revolver, chambered for a diminutive 6mm percussion ball. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 1-3/8 inches in length. Caliber: 6mm Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1000 #21987 SOLD Antique: Yes |
