German Made "British Bulldog"
SOLD
Description:
This "Bulldog" pattern small antique double action revolver was manufactured in Germany in the late 1880's. It has a folding trigger, a safety lever, and is chambered for a .320 caliber cartridge. It is fully functional, and is in good condition overall. The bore is a little pitted due to the black powder ammunition made at the time, but it still has plenty of strong rifling left. All of the numbered parts match, stamped with the number "26". It can be fired by double or single action. These small "Bulldog" pattern revolvers were very popular at the turn of the century for personal protection as a concealed carry weapon. The "Bulldog" was designed and first produced in England, but due to their popularity gunmakers all over Continental Europe started producing them. The German produced examples like this one were typically well made, nicely finished, and reliable. This is a really neat little gun and would be a great addition to any collection. With the vast majority of the attractive blue and straw finish remaining on this little "Bulldog", it would also make a great decorator piece.
