Remington 1858 “New Model” Army revolver
Description: #4244 Remington 1858 “New Model” Army revolver, early serial number (29XXX) and thus probably saw service as an individuals private purchase, as I see no Federal inspectors markings and no cartouches on the grips. It does show some after-market repairs; one is the rammer catch (and this is a really decent repair, actually better than the original catch!) and the grips MAY be replaced, but at least the escutcheon for the grip screw is replaced. Scattered fine to moderate pitting pretty much overall on the metal, fair barrel markings, strongly rifled bore with lead build-up and scattered light to medium pitting (about 6-7 on a scale of 10), VG action with tight lock-up. $1095 SOLD Antique: Yes |
