CIVIL WAR SMITH & WESSON NO. 2 OLD ARMY .32 RF CAL. REVOLVER CIRCA 1863-4.
Description: CIVIL WAR SMITH & WESSON NO. 2 OLD ARMY .32 RF CAL. REVOLVER CIRCA 1863-4. Serial number in the 15,xxx range and all matching and original. 6” barrel with “SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD, MASS.” Address. Rosewood grips. Has moderate surface rust from poor storage over an extended period and the barrel screw is an old replacement. Cylinder rotates and hammer can be pulled back but trigger sear does not engage and barrel latch is frozen otherwise in fair condition. Address and serial stamp are very crisp. Grips with old hairline on left flat. Should clean up to good plus or better. Authentic and a real Civil War early production example. Descended in a family from Kentucky with a Union Colonel ancestor who commanded the 32nd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry and who probably owned it. SOLD Antique: Yes |
