Moore's Patent Firearms Co. S.A. Belt Revolver
Description: This is a Moore's Patent Firearms Co. Single Action Belt Revolver made from 1861 to 1863 in a total quantity of 5,000 -8,000. It is a 32 caliber rimfire that held 7 rounds and thus was refered to as "Seven Shooter". These guns are light and compact and quite a few were privately purchased by Union officers and enlisted men during the Civil War. The gun functions pefectly and the original silver plate finish is about 90% in place with the blued barrel about 60% blued. The cyllinder is nearly a full patina gray. The cylinder is marked "Patented April 3, 1855 & Sept. 3, 1860". Serial number is 5069. The original grips are in excellent condition with only slight wearing away of the finish coat near the bottom of both grip panels. This gun is at or very near excellent condition. Altogether this is a lovely little gun from an important period in American History.
