1878 -COLT DAin 45Colt Ct'g.-Gorgeous-NO FFL
Description: Price REDUCED/Sold AS-IS;.....I am selling MY personal 1878 COLT DA in .45Colt cartridge. This is a 6shot Colt Revolver that has been renickeled during the decades I have owned it...it is not perfect but I still enjoy it. We both know this particular model is a VERY desireable COLT. The serial number is 4502 indicating a possible 1st year production. This revolver was originally Nickel finish. I have NO factory records--I didn't feel the need to know. ALL the numbers match on locations where factory placed them. This has the "handsome" 4-3/4in barrel. The action is tight...the Hammer-Bolt/screw IS LH thread..! I have had NEW(a long time ago)Hand-hand spring/trig. spring etc. replaced as some were broken. The gun works in both "double action-single action" BUT...the trigger return needs a slight push to reset & the hammer sear does NOT hold when thumb ...although I have not fired this weapon...I can see the cylinder when trigger releases the hammer the bore is perfectly lined up w/cylinder..! The grips are replacements as the originals were fractured/chipped. The swivel at the bottom of grip appears to be the original as it was there when I purchased it. I have no opinion on lettering but appears original. there is a stamping just above the trigger on L.side of trigger frame reads :"45 cal." in tiny letters.. The trigger still has original blue on it. The cylinder chambers are NICE- the Bore is well defined as shown. I will ship this to you in Lower48 for $25.00..Offers considered.....Nickel shows a reddish hue..I was wearing a red plaid shirt when photos taken. SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: COLT Pat.F.A. Co-Hartford,CT. Serial Number: 4502 |
