SALE PENDING An exceptional and high condition Colt SAA Artillery Model revolver (45 Colt) that was inspected by Rinaldo A.Carr in 1903. This Artillery model consists of the following parts: 1) Frame is U.S. inspected by Ainsworth Serial # 9746 circa 1874 with the early 2 line Patent date...2) Barrel was cut down to 5 1/2 inches, Original Ainswoth Inspected Ist type Italic Address, douple P proofed and a small "A" serial #3266 with original Bullseye ejector...3) Cylinder is a D.F.C. inspected (P) serial # 6054... 4) Trigger guard and backstrap are serial # 31127 J.T.C. inspected range for 1876.....5) Grips are double inspected on the heel by R.A.C. and cartouche on the right grip RAC 1903.
This 1903 Artillery SAA retains 95%+ of the factory blue from the 1903 refurbishing by Colt. The desirable early frame has traces of the case colors and clear and crisp 2 line patent and a small "U.S." mark. The hammer retains most of its case colors, bright and vivid. The grips remain in excellent condition and retain their factory martial inspectors marks, perfectly fitted and are without a blemish. Bore and cylinder walls retain their Colt arsenal reblue without a trace of corrosion. This is a fabulous textbook example of the last U.S. Martial contract of the Colt SAA Artillery revolver.
