Colt New Army & Navy Revolver Model 1896 w/ Factory letter
Description:
Serial #264743, .38 Long Colt, 4 1/2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This is a 1906 manufactured, commercial model revolver that has retained 97-98% of the original bright blue finish with some traces of silvering at the muzzle, along a couple of the exposed edges, and a very mild turn-ring around the cylinder.
The hammer and trigger have nearly all of their original vivid fire blue remaining, as well as a few very minor specks of freckling along the sides of the hammer spur.
The checkered hard rubber grips with Colt “daisy” roundels are also in excellent shape with only a few very minor handling marks and some very light flattening to the points.
The action lock-up and timing are still firm and sound.
This is an excellent, and exceptional, early swing-out Colt that has lots of original condition remaining and would make a great addition to any collection.
The revolver is accompanied by a 2016 dated Colt Factory Letter that lists a ship date of September 8, 1906, to Pacific Hardware & Steel Co. of San Francisco, CA as part of a 20 gun shipment.
This is a splendid DA Colt and would make a great addition to any collection.
