LIKE NEW IN ORIGINAL BOX COLT DIAMONDBACK .22LR CAL. 6” BLUE REVOLVER CA. 1978.
Description:
LIKE NEW IN ORIGINAL BOX COLT DIAMONDBACK .22LR CAL. 6” BLUE REVOLVER CA. 1978. "R" prefix serial number and same on box. Appears unfired and in mint condition. Excellent original box numbered to gun and with all the paperwork including yellow hanging tag. Odd unmarked barrel with no Model or address. Compared it to other Diamondbacks we have and can tell no difference between it and others. Has "R" stamped in ejector rod housing recess(possible rebarrel at Colt?). A bit of a conundrum but confident it's a Colt done job as factory records say it's a 6" as marked on box with factory model designation(D5-160). Colt records indicates same with it's being shipped out as a 6". Why someone swapped out the barrel or had it replaced with one by Colt without address is a mystery but possible it was intended for engraving by owner. Been in this one collection for 40 years with other new in box guns from the 70's bought by owner and never fired so not a gun that has been bouncing around the market for years.
