- Note: This hard to find Colt Shooting Master was manufactured about 1930. It retains its original Colt blue with no visible alterations. The blue wear is most pronounced on the bottom of the trigger guard and at both sides of the muzzle with blue loss at the leading edge of the cylinder on the high points. As is normal for this model, the backstrap and frontstrap and trigger are hand checkered from the factory. There is some light staining at the muzzle on the left side where the blue has worn thin. The bore is bright with strong lands and grooves with bright chambers in the cylinder. The gun times and locks up tight. The former owner had a pair of Herrett grips made for the gun, which are custom checkered and fitted to the gun (as pictured). However, the original factory checkered walnut grip with silver medallions accompany the gun. As you may know, one of the major differentions between the Shooting Master and the New Service Target, is that the Shooting Master had a round butt. Therefore, New Service grips will not interchange with this model. These factory walnut grips appear to be completely mint in their condition.
