Colt Officers Model 1st Issue Revolver (Canadian Property Marked)
Description:
Serial #284569, .38 Special, 6" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some small spots of mild freckling within the grooves.
This is a 1907-made revolver that has retained 92-95% of the original bright blue finish with numerous small handling marks and blemishes, including some scattered bright gray impact marks on the top and right side of the wide topstrap.
The hammer and trigger retain a commensurate amount of bright, fire blue with some spots of freckling throughout.
The left side of the frame has a small “C (Broad Arrow)" Canadian property marking struck just ahead of the Rampant Colt at the knuckle.
The walnut grips are in fine condition with only some very light handling marks and small blemishes, as well as some mild flattening of the points.
The Canadian military purchased a very small amount of these Colt revolvers, no more than a few dozen, for Officer Cadet training prior to World War I, making this a very rare military handgun.
This example is in fine condition with lots of original finish remaining, and would make a splendid addition to any collection.
