Description:
#4968 Colt S/A, 4-3/4”x45COLT, 129XXX (made in late 1890) and having a VG+ bore (about a 7-1/2 to 8 on a scale of 10). Tight lock-up and in fine tune with all the “clicks” on the hammer, which is the post-1906 style hammer, so obviously has been replaced at some time in the past. Fine smooth metal with a dark plum blue-brown patina, fine screw heads, correct two-line barrel address, and fine markings. The hard rubber grips have about 60% wear to the right side and 30% on the left, so this was most likely used by a right-handed shooter for most of its 125-year life. Overall, a very handsome little short-barreled .45 in above average condition. $3350
