Description:
#4969 Colt S/A, 5-1/2”x45COLT, 59XXX range (1880), VG bore, about a 7 on a scale of 10 with just medium wear, but no bad spots. Fine tight smooth action with all the clicks on the hammer and a crisp lock-up. The smooth metal is very nice with no appreciable pitting except for some very light freckling on the cylinder in spots and some moderate pitting on right side of the hammer. Fine markings and retains an even thin grey-brown patina over most of the surface. Finely checked one piece wood grips, which are possible replacements since they show virtually no wear at all but do fit extremely well. Overall this is a very decent and handsome 5-1/2” Colt in the classic Old West caliber, and a revolver that is getting ever more difficult to find in nice condition.
VG++ $3250
