New York Engraved Colt Single Action Army .44-40 caliber revolver. Made in 1882. 7½” barrel in .44-40. This gun was originally had etched panel but was engraved over. Gun is in very fine condition with approximately 20% of the original nickel finish. Engraving is nice and sharp. Ivory grips are very good and have shrunk around the front and back strap. Ivory is old and period. Very nice-looking gun that comes with a factory letter that says this gun was shipped to Hartley and Graham and shipped soft. Note: Soft shipping meaning the gun was ordered to be engraved. There were a lot of guns in the early 80,000 serial range that were shipped to the New York dealers to be engraved. Very fine gun!
