Colt Etched Panel 44/40 Single Action, 7 1/2 Inch Barrel
Description:
Manufactured in 1886, this etched panel 44/40 Single Action, serial number 118xxx, was apparently shipped with two piece gutta percha eagle grips that were later replaced with one piece ivory. The gun itself is in excellent original condition, with 50-60% original blue and traces of color case-hardening. It must have been fired very little, as the bore is excellent and the insides of the chambers retain at least 90% of their blueing. The etched panel, "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER", is faint but clearly legible, and the action is smooth and crisp. All in all, this is a great looking "Peacemaker", especially with the yellow aged antique ivory grips. Included is a Colt factory letter stating that it was shipped to Hall Willis Hardware Co., Kansas City, MO on March 29,1887. A great "Cowby" gun. PRICE: $9,500 We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974. PH. 859-276-1419 We Buy, Sell and Trade Firearms & Knives. Have a Individual Firearm, Firearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell, let us know, we can buy or consignment sell it for you. (sales at am-firearms)
