Colt SAA 32-20 First Generation Made 1901 Frontier Doctor's Gun Texas
Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are sure proud to offer this fine example of Colt's Single Action Army model. It is chambered in 32 WCF, which was the smallest centerfire caliber offered. Made in the year of our Lord 1901, she is in good condition. While the blue has drifted to patina, the sharp stampings prove she received some good care in the last 115 years. Even the trademark bears the full circle around it. The action is crisp and fairly tight, with good indexing and lockup. The bore of the gunfighter length 4 3/4 inch barrel is also good, with plenty of shine and strong rifling. There are a few tool marks and scratches, but no major wear. The provenance I received with this wheel gun indicates it was originally owned by Dr. R.O. Braswell of Fort Worth, Texas. It was handed down within his family until now. I was able to find an article about him in a 1907 El Paso Herald, an article written by him in 1909, and several other references to this skilled physician. A Colt letter could really boost the value of this gun. If you have been looking for the right Colt Single Action to collect or for investment, with the added clout of a short barreled small bore and some colorful history, then look no further.
