Description:
This historical Colt was shipped November 17,1927. It was shipped to the San Antonio Police Department in a shipment of 50 guns. All of the guns were Factory Engraved S.A.P.D. On the butt of the revolver.
This gun is stamped S.A.P.D. No 55. It is my understanding that these Colts were the last Single Army Action Colts that were shipped to any law enforcement agency. If any body has more info I would love to know more about it.
This Colt comes with 4 3/4 Barrel and is in the 45 Long Colt. It came out with black bubbler grips but now has a beautiful set of Mammoth Ivory, also the trigger/bolt springs has even replaced. This gun has the smoothest Action and trigger pull. Never been refinished and retains about 75 to 80% of the bluing. Pleases look at the Colt Factory Letter that come with the gun. This is truly a wonderful part of Texas and Law Enforcment History.
