RARE Winchester Shipped Antique Colt SAA .45cal Presentation Gun w/Holster 1878!
Description:
RARE, and very unique, early Indian wars, black powder presentation Colt SAA revolver, with old cartridge belt and holster, shipped to Winchester in 1878. There is a silver, oval shaped plaque, on each side of the wood grips, period inscribed, "Presented by C. Black, Villa Lardo, Mexico" on the right grip. "To: J.H. Gibson" on the left grip. Villa Lardo, Mexico is in the state of Durango, Mexico, which there is much early western history associated there. All 5 serial #'s match, including the barrel and cylinder. The wood grips are also original to the gun. There is some very fine pitting on the barrel near the barrel address, as can be expected of a gun this old, but, the barrel address is still 50% visible. The mechanics are excellent, the bore would rate very good to excellent, as well. The patent dates and serial #'s are still good. Likely sold by Winchester as a companion revolver, to their 1873 rifle, during the Indian Wars period. Very rarely do you find an original, early, black powder Colt SAA revolver, gifted presentation gun, such as this!! Please ask questions if desired. NO FFL required, unless the state you live in requires one for transfer, city of NY,NJ, etc.. Shipping with insurance is $25.00 Thank you.
