Colt Single Action Army Second Generation With Special Order Wood Grips And Letter
Description:
Quality Consignments Wanted! This Colt was produced in 1960. The Colt's serial number is 32959 SA. It is chambered for the 45 long Colt. The factory letter states that this pistol was shipped to Church Sporting Goods In Herrin Illinois On October 7th 1960. This colt is in unfired condition. There is no drag line between the cylinder stops. The factory letter states that the grips are not listed. However, this pair of grips are numbered in the correct style with white grease pencil. These grips fit the grip strap perfectly. Wood grips were a special order extra cost item on standard S.A.A.'s. As standard, the wood grips were fitted to the first issue Colt Sheriffs model pistols as well as nickel plated and Buntline models. They were not at all commonly seen on the regular model Colts. This is a fairly rare variation for the post war Single Action Army pistols. The pistol is fitted with a 4 3/4 inch barrel. which also was not commonly seen on early Colts. The color cased finish is bright and colorful. There is a very tiny little chip inside of the right wood grip toe. It is barely noticeable. This is a very collectable and sought after Post War Colt. The Condition and rarity as well as the factory letter sets this Colt apart! Search for hlvfineguns on google.
